Step 1
Create your profile
Use recent photos that look like you, including a clear face shot. Write a short bio in your own voice. State that you want friends with benefits. Add the pace you can keep: weeknights, weekends, travel, or slow to start. If you only want something local, say so. People cannot match a riddle.
Step 2
Say the terms out loud
Name the arrangement before the first drink. How often you want to see each other. Whether you date other people. What is in bounds in bed and what is not. When you will check in. Sexual health: recent tests, condoms, and what you need to feel safe. None of this has to be a contract. It does have to be said.
Step 3
Browse for a real fit
Look for someone whose pace matches yours, not only someone you find attractive. Read the whole profile. If they want a relationship timeline you cannot offer, move on. If they want a one-night blur and you want an ongoing FWB, move on. Chemistry matters. So does calendar honesty.
Step 4
Message like an adult
Lead with what you want and one true thing about you. Ask one specific question. Keep the chat on the site until you have a reason to meet. If the tone is warm and the terms line up, suggest a first meet with a time and a public place. Pressure is a no. Clarity is attractive.
Step 5
Meet in public first
Choose a bar, cafe, or walk where you can leave. Tell a friend where you are going. Stay sober enough to get yourself home. Use Safety tools before you go: verification badges, blocking, reporting, and location privacy that shows a town, not a street. Come with an exit. You can always reschedule sex for a night you both still want.
Step 6
Keep the pace honest
If it is good, keep seeing each other on the terms you named. Check in when something shifts: feelings, frequency, other partners, sexual health. If it is done, say it cleanly. Ghosting is not a boundary. It is an exit you did not give the other person. An FWB that ends well can still have been a good idea.
